What is a jaw plate?

A jaw plate is the replaceable wear liner bolted to the fixed and moving jaws of a jaw crusher. It takes the crushing load directly, so it is cast in austenitic manganese steel that work-hardens in service. Plates are matched in pairs to the crusher model and replaced when the tooth profile is worn flat or the closed-side setting can no longer be held.

How long should a set of jaw plates last?

Wear life depends on feed hardness, closed-side setting and duty cycle. [TBC: confirm typical wear-life ranges before publishing.]

Can you cast plates from a worn sample instead of a drawing?

Yes: dimensions are taken off the worn plate and a pattern made if no drawing is available.

Mn13 or Mn18: which should I order?

Mn13 suits most crushing duty and is the default choice; Mn18 is worth the extra cost where feed is hard and abrasive and impact is high enough to work-harden it.

What is the minimum order for jaw plates?
