What is grinding media?
Grinding media are the cast steel balls or rods loaded into a mill to do the actual grinding. Unlike a liner or a plate, media is consumed continuously in service rather than replaced as a single part, so it is supplied by weight and topped up on a running basis. Diameter and hardness are matched to the ore and the mill’s grinding duty.
