DIRECT ANSWER

What are mill liners?

Mill liners are the replaceable wear plates bolted inside the shell and heads of ball and SAG mills. They protect the mill shell from the grinding charge and lift it to maintain grinding action; lifter and plate profiles are matched to the mill’s diameter and duty. Cast in manganese or alloy steel depending on the impact-to-abrasion balance, they are replaced in sections as the profile wears down.

Cast Bespoke to Your Mill

Every liner set we cast is matched to the specific mill it will run in: either to your own drawing, to the worn liner you send us, or to OEM dimensions you confirm with us directly. We don’t publish a public catalogue of drawing numbers or client specifications: casting to your mill’s exact shell and head profile, rather than off a generic reference list, is how we keep lifter geometry and grinding action right first time.

Send your mill make, model and diameter, a drawing, or a worn sample, and we will confirm dimensions, material grade and hardness before we quote.

FAQ: Mill Liners

Wear life depends on ore hardness, mill speed and duty cycle. [TBC: confirm typical wear-life ranges before publishing.]
Yes: dimensions are taken off the worn liner and a pattern made if no drawing is available.
Mn13 suits most milling duty and is the default choice; alloy steel is worth considering for higher-impact SAG applications where toughness matters more than pure abrasion resistance.
MOQ depends on the product and a number of other factors. Send us your part number or drawing and we’ll confirm the minimum for your order.
