SKS Steel Zambia Limited is a foundry and machine shop in Kalulushi. SKS Steel was incorporated in 2019, built by a leadership team with decades of prior casting experience: supplying wear parts to the country’s mines, quarries and sugar mills, parts that were, and often still are, imported by everyone else.

Incorporated in Kalulushi, Copperbelt Province: a foundry and machine shop built from day one.
Leadership
Decades of prior casting experience brought in from day one: leadership backgrounds include Balaji Castings, Scaw Zambia and Western Castings (Ghana).
Growth
In-house machining added alongside the foundry, so castings are finished to drawing tolerance without depending on outside shops.
Today
Eight part families cast and machined in Kalulushi, supplying mining, quarrying, agriculture and sugar across Zambia and the region.

V. B. Singh leads SKS Steel Zambia’s foundry and machine shop operations. Before SKS Steel, his career in the casting industry included roles at Balaji Castings, Scaw Zambia Ltd, and Western Castings (Ghana): experience across manganese and alloy steel foundries that shapes how SKS Steel runs its own melting, heat treatment and quality control today.

How does SKS Steel control casting quality?
Every batch is melted to a checked chemistry, heat treated in-house, and tested for hardness before machining; dimensions are inspected against the drawing and recorded against the batch. Because melting, heat treatment and machining all happen on one site in Kalulushi, no part of the specification is handed to a subcontractor.
